DIY Shoe Rack

Lean how to make an easy fun at home shoe rack that will take you minimal time.

How To Make

Step 1

Start by measuring the space you would like your shoe rack to be located. Then choose the type of wood you prefer. Travel to your local home improvement store and purchase the wood. I choose pine.

You will also need to purchase brackets. Metal L shaped brackets . Make sure the brackets fit the size of your wood. (if you do not have skrews at home make sure to by a pack at the store.)

Step 3

Tip: if you are not comfortable using a table saw have someone cut the wood at the store. If not mark your measurements and cut. 

Step 4

It's time to sand! sand the wood so that it is soft to the touch and looks nice. 

Step 5

Once the wood is to your liking it is time to move to the location of your soon to be shoe rack. Find your studs in the wall. If you do not have a stud finer knock on the wall and find where it sounds hollow. 

Step 6

Begin to put your brackets where you want them on the wall. Make a pencil mark where the hole is for the screw.

Step 7

Screw in your first bracket and measure where the second one goes according to the first.   

Step 8

Place your wood on top and use a level to see if it is straight. 

Step 9

Next measure how far up you want your next shelf to sit. Remove the first piece of wood. Mark with pencil where those brackets should go and screw both brackets in. 

Step 10

Place both pieces of wood on the brackets. Make sure they are Straight. 

Step 11

Congratulations you are finished. It should look something like this. 

Step 12

Now it's time to place your shoes on top of the shelves!
